The cost of living an authentic life is that some people are going to think you’re crazy. And you have to let them.

Someone I love and highly respect recently told me that I’m ‘nuts’ for a decision I’m about to make in my career. They genuinely believe it’s ludicrous and listed all of the reasons they personally think it’s a bad decision. A few years ago, their words would have completely rattled my nervous system and sent me into a spiral of self doubt. But as I stood there listening to them talk, I noticed something extraordinary; my heart didn’t race at all. I didn’t fawn under the pressure, doubt my ability to make decisions or feel the need to justify my choices - I remained confident and unwavering. My decision withstood the blows of fear and I decided to stick to my choice anyway.

I am becoming more and more comfortable with living a life that makes sense to absolutely no one except for myself, and it feels fucking FANTASTIC.
